The event “Career Day 2026”, organized by the Department of Tourism of Ionian University, was successfully held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. The main objective of the event was to connect students and graduates with the labour market and to strengthen the Department’s collaboration with tourism stakeholders and businesses.

On Monday, 16 March 2026, the Department of Tourism of the Ionian University welcomed 90 students from Potamos Primary School and the 4th Experimental Primary School of Corfu “Athenagoreio”, accompanied by their teachers.

The Ionian University Research Day was successfully held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the exhibition space of the Corfu Port Authority, as an open celebration of scientific knowledge, creativity, and innovation, aiming to showcase the rich and multidimensional research output of the University and strengthen its connection with society.

On Thursday 4 and Friday 5 April 2024, the Third Project Meeting of the partners of the SusTour project - "Joint e-course on sustainable management of tourism destinations" financed by Erasmus+ in the axis KA220-HED was successfully held in Corfu. The two-day events were organized by the Ionian University and took place in the Senate Hall at the Ionian Academy (Rectorate of the Ionian University) and the Meeting Room of the Building of the Department of History and the Department of Archival, Librarianship and Museology of the Ionian University (72 Ioanni Theotokis Street) respectively.

The Department of Tourism of the Ionian University organized on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, a meeting inviting all tourism stakeholders, in order to discuss issues related to tourism in Corfu and the region of Ionian Islands and specifically research and innovation in tourism with the aim of activating the new "Regional Smart Specialization Strategy".

The Department of Tourism was represented by Konstantinos Voglis, Assistant Professor, George Kontogeorgis, Adjunct Lecturer, Athanasios Spingos, Academic Fellow.

The speaker was Mr. Argyris Daouliaris, General Manager of operation and quality of Amalia Group, owner of the employment platform InnJobs.net for hotels and mass catering and hotel consultant. Deputy Mayor of Tourism Mr. Panos Varouchas attended the talk.
