The Department of Tourism of the School of Economic Sciences of the Ionian University announces the conferral of the title of Doctor upon Mr. Ilias Kalis, the first doctoral graduate in the history of the Department.
The conferral ceremony took place on Wednesday, 8 July 2026, at 10:00, in the presence of the Rector of the Ionian University, Professor Andreas Floros, the Chair of the Department of Tourism, Professor Christina Beneki, and the Department, following the public defense of his doctoral dissertation, which was held on Friday, 19 June 2026, before the competent Seven-Member Examination Committee. The Committee evaluated the dissertation positively, recognizing its contribution to the scientific field of tourism.
The Department of Tourism warmly congratulates the new doctoral graduate and wishes him every success in his future scientific and professional career.
