Sophia Paschou

Dr Sofia Paschou is a museologist and a researcher and a lawyer. Born in Corfu, Greece, she received her Law degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1999. She works as a professional lawyer since then.  She holds a MSc and a PhD from the Ionian University, Greece. She worked as an adjunct lecturer at the Department of Fine Arts and Art Sciences, University of Ioannina, Greece and at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts, Ionian University. Her research interests lie on museums, museum ethics, cultural heritage, and digital applications, included augmented/virtual reality and virtual museums. Her ongoing research focuses on museum digital ethics and the Museum Digital Atmosphere (MDA), a term she has introduced and explored in the last few years. She has participated in international research projects, and international Conferences. She coordinates research activities for the Museology Lab at the Ionian University, and she is a member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM). At the moment she is teaching at the Department of Tourism, Ionian University.
