Short Description:

Forms and models of innovation. Innovation models based on digital platforms. Adoption of innovative digital technologies. Effective utilization of ICT in the digital single market. Decision-making through the use of digital tools and the application of advanced analytical models. Digital maturity. Knowledge creation and management. Open innovation culture. Creation and maintenance of sustainable competitive advantage. Technological innovation in sustainable tourism development. Green innovation. Open innovation. The role of start-ups. Case studies – open innovation platforms – the hospitality sector – information and communication technologies.

Objectives - Learning Results:
  • To enable students to understand the fundamental principles and characteristics of the digital economy and to recognize its impact on the business behavior of organizations.
  • To explore the opportunities and threats arising from the emergence of digital innovation and a range of new business models and applications.
  • To identify and evaluate the capabilities of modern digital technologies.
  • To distinguish between deep technologies (deep tech) and shallow technologies.
  • To develop the ability to strategically design an innovative enterprise using appropriate business tools (e.g., Business Model Canvas).
  • To develop the ability to prepare a concise business plan for the development of an innovative e-business.
  • To acquire basic knowledge for the promotion and commercialization of digital products and services.
  • To acquire the necessary conceptual background to understand the challenges faced by business management in the context of the digital economy.

Week 5: Demonstration of the WordPress Tool

Week 6: Digital Business Infrastructure

Week 7: Market and Competition Analysis for Digital Business Design

Week 8: Training in WordPress for Website Development

Week 9: New e-Business Technologies and Innovative Business Models

Week 10: Training in WordPress for Website Development

Week 11: Presentation of Websites

Week 12: Presentation of Business Model Canvas and Feasibility Study for Innovative Digital Businesses
